Evening everyone

Has anyone got a glue gun? I'm looking for one with a fine tip. Any recommendations? Very Happy

Sorry Kerry, I don't have a glue gun myself, God only knows what a mess I'd make with it! Hopefully someone else does Smile

I wanted to ask, (at the risk of sounding stupid) do you girls just use regular sandpaper to sand your paper or is there papercrafting sandpaper?

Hi Kat
Not a daft question, but I use a good old fashioned emery board for my sanding.

Hi Kat, I use the sanding blocks that you can get on the nail counters at the Supermarket.

If you have mini monsters can you tell me how useful it is? There is an offer on Oh My crafts for 20 sheets of vynil, 2 of each of 10 colours and 2 sheets contact adhesive and a free cart. It comes in three varieties but for the colour mix most useful to me it includes Mini Monsters http://www.ohmycrafts.com/oh-my-vinyl-value-packs.aspx. I am thinking my guys are to old for it to be any use but let me know your thoughts.

Hi Kerry, good afternoon everybody.

Kerry, firstly I bought a glue gun from Aldis, not too expensive and I bought loads of glue sticks, my friend then bought for me as a thank you some glitter glue sticks, all colours, especially reds/greens/golds/silvers etc, I thought at the time they were pretty rare but I think places like 'The Range' do them now. I get in a right mess with mine - well my table does. Once it is heated you cannot stop it from oooozziing out, the only thing that does help is after you have pressed the trigger to heat some of the glue stick you then have to pull it back out a little, if you get my drift, so that the end of the glue stick is not on the heated bit all the time. One thing I have found is that if you put a tile or something like that to catch the drips, you can make your own stickles and colour them in permanent colour, I even tried nail polish and it worked a treat, if you are very careful you can make all different sizes! Hope this lecture helped.

Hope everybody is having a good day, it's lovely and sunny today but still so cold, -1 again this morning, but unlike yesterday when it was -3 ouch!

Did everybody get to see James and his sky dive, Liz if it is taking too much room up (not sure I am thinking this out right), if it's a link, can I assume this does not take up any room??????? Question anyway Liz, if it takes up too much room, please feel free to delete - just don't press DELETE too hard, I don't want to hurt my little chicken - can't believe my baby is 16, the only giveaway apart from being taller than me is 'the voice'! lol!

Hi Pam,

Have you been playing with the update, how is it working out so far?

Is there anything useful for us mere mortals that do not own all these fancy new machines?

Pam, I had an email from Diane at Capadiadesigns, her update has been on all night, she started off by leaving for five hours and then gave up. Diane did say that most peoples updates went through really quickly but because she never kept uptodate with all the updates they were updating all in one go.

Maybe this is the reason for the possible slowness some people are experiencing, is this what's wrong with your update or is it more sinister? Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

This is what Diane had to say:-

The "Big" update for the Gypsy that will allow you to use it with your Imagine cartridges is ready. You should read THIS POST on the Cricut message board to get all of the details.

You can download the latest version of the Cricut Sync program HERE. Be sure to follow all of the directions carefully. I downloaded the new version of the Cricut Sync and did the Gypsy update successfully in less than an hour. I then started on the Imagine update. I had not updated my Imagine since the original update and the Sync program has been uploading content to the Imagine for over five hours. I finally decided to give up and let it go overnight with my fingers crossed that all will be finished in the morning! I have read that other people updated the Imagine and it was very quick so it could be that mine is slow because I hadn't done the intermediate updates or it could be some peculiarity of my computer/internet/virus protection, etc.

At any rate - you will now have an Imagine app icon on your Gypsy start screen as you can see at the top of this post. In the Imagine app the screen will look about the same as the Imagine screen. I haven't uploaded any cartridges yet (because I am still updating my Imagine) but I have read that other users have successfully done this and are designing with the Imagine and regular cartridges on the Gypsy and then printing and cutting with the Imagine. I can't wait to do this - my fingers are crossed hoping that everything updates correctly!

Hi Peeps

I have had such a busy weekend of Judging Gymnastics so sorry I've not been around and just off again to Gym in a few mins.

How are you all good I hope.

Iv'e just done both the I and the Gypsy update and all went well. Pam I did mine very early this morning and it work a treat very quick and pain free. I think when everyone is trying to do the updates then it might be a bit slower.

Looking forward to making a few cards this week and if I can remember the instruction Liz gave me I'll post them.

I ordered a cart from Custom Crops last week and it arrived this morning that was so quick so have just ordered 2 more Kate's Kitchen for my I & Home Decor. I missed out on Lori's Garden they have now said that the manufactures are not going to be making anymore UCK. Crying or Very sad

I hope there might be someone out there that will sell it so fingers x so I'll keeping looking. Looking forward to the new carts for the I coming out in April.

Off to the Gym talk soon.

chris xx

I am here now just got back from hospital had to take hubby to doc yesterday and he sent him straight to hospital thrusts still working on what is wrong
His feet were very swollen and he was very breathless so the thought he might have a dot in his leg but because of the treatment he had for lung cancer they could not do the blood test so they said they were going to organise a scan for this morning and kept him in when I got there this afternoon they have scanec his chest but not his leg they are going to do that tomorrow why did they not do them both together so none the wiser

Hi Sandra, sorry to hear you are going through the wars with DH again. I hope you get some positive news tomorrow.

Carol dont worry about the link it doesn't take any extra space as it is only a link.

It was -3 in Derbyshire this morning and I think they have given out a similar evening this evening. Hate those sort of temps on school days it takes so long to get moving chipping off the ice etc.!

Lesley loved the flowers on your blog and was going to leave a comment but I couldnt get to the comments section no matter how many times I clicked on comments!

BUsy busy busy Chris! You will meet yourself coming back or is that me! Smile

I look forward to the updates as I think folks might get a better idea about the I once they can see a similar screen on the G. Didn't know there were any updates so I will check that out when I get home after karate and CU chauffeuring!

Oh Sandra, I hope you get some positive news tomorrow, it's not nice when you don't know what's wrong.

Thanks for the feedback about the glue gun. I might steer clear, as I can make a huge mess without the aid of glue Very Happy

Morning all

Thanks Chris, look forward to hearing how you get on with your glue gun.

Another question. I bought an XCut alphabet die, but I'm having real problems running it through my Cuttlebug. Normal sandwich, too loose, an extra shim, far too tight. Any ideas??

Hi Kerry

How thick is your shim I would start with 1 or 2 piece's pf copy paper and build up from there I know it can be time consuming but it worth it as it works for me. Hope it works for you Hun. Then have a note book to hand & write it down for next time.

Its raining a little here so hope it stops soon or it wont be very nice to play golf in uck.

Morning all, It is a lovely day here but very windy.

Kerry, I use the rubber shim mat if I need a bit more thickness placed between the 2 "B" plates so that you don't cut into it. Good luck with the Glue Gun, mine went into the bin as soon as I mistakenly got some of the hot glue on my hand and burnt it!!!!!! as Carol says where a Homer Simpson space suit, another tip have a bowl of cold water next to you when using it in case of accidents.
