Re: Daily Chit Chat
Yes Chris I totally agree with Pam, cold water and a quick suck on the burn always worked for me. Oh I forgot about the burning bit!!!!!! Be careful as well of the lead, they are not very long and sometimes you get a bit tangled up and this is like the hot iron syndrome, infact - hot glue guns are not recommended for anybody that crafts with more than one thing on their desk (thats me), over the age of 18 (thats me) and is a little forgetful at times (that is so me). But all said, have fun and let us see what you make. Have fun at the golf club, where do you find the energy?
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi, can I ask a question, having seen that the Gypsy and Design stuidio has an update, how long will it now take to open the design stuidio once you have downloaded all these hundreds of new cartridges, does it take ages for everybody elses design studio to open already without this latest download, i've just opened design studio and it is taking over 220 seconds to open and what about the memory it takes up, is this going to be an issue especially since so many cartridges have been and presumably are going to be released!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Good question Carol, but if you have a Gypsy why do you need to use Design Studio? I had to use DS the other day as my Gypsy battery was dead and took forever to open so I gave up and plugged the Gypsy in!!!!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Thanks for the ideas for using my die in the Cuttlebug, but after assorted shims and using my rubber mat, the flippin thing still won't cut It's now getting too tight and I don't want to risk breaking my cutter. My SIL forced hers and snapped the metal workings inside. Might have to invest in the Impress cutter to use my die, they have them going on EBay for not too much money. Unless anyone else has any ideas
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Kerry, this might be a silly question but are your "B" plates bent? if so this might be the problem. I have used all types of different dies without any problem if the "B" plates are flat.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Carol, I usually turn DS on, then go put the kettle on and make a cup of tea, it is getting silly.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi girl's i would just like to ask LIZ,,PAM,,CHRIS do you have a blog site? just been looking at my list of blog page's i visit and i cannot find you all,xx
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Pam, to answer your question, I use design studio on two computers, my laptop - registered version and work computer - to dabble on. My laptop is there in my craft room, I cannot always see the gypsy in true style, seeing as the screen is so small, I think I need bifocals!!! I cannot hide the gypsy at work, whereas - can be typing 300 words a minute and nobody would know I was on DS in the office!!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Dee, I do have a blog site but don't use it now, it was set up way back when we first had problems with the old MB.
Carol, the ad for the Gypsy say you can use in anywhere, in the Dr's waiting room, on a plane why not at work?

Please keep your eye out for:
a FULL SIZE Colorbox Chalk Ink Pad in Chestnut Roan (not cats eye)
If you spot one, can you let me know, or if you are placing an order with a USA company and don't mind me piggybacking

Re: Daily Chit Chat
moring all
very windy here today. Well my golf comp well dispite the windy weather so I was pleased with my score of net 82.
Dee I dont have a blog not sure if I could comitt to it daily /weekly. But i do love looking at others peoples.
Thats sounds expensive Kerry to have to buy another machine so you can cut X Cut dies, never used them myself as I have a Pazzle and I cut those Die cuts etc on Her so I rarely buy them. But I am looking at a few of those ones by Marianne they do look very nice I will see if I can get the Pazzle to cut them first before I buy.
Anyone going to the NEC in March I'm going on the Thursday so let me know and I'll buy coffee.
I'm looking forward to the Craft Room hear it's very similar to DS and I belive it free to use, not sure on the format, Due to be launched in April, also belive you can use it on the go if you have a Xoom / Galaxy S etc not sure with the I-Pad yet. I will keep looking for more info and let you all know.
This is funny- made a card when I would wake up at 4am and looked at it yesterday and its wonky, Sam DD said Mum that not on straight now ladies it's not slightly crooked, it's very slanted had not realized I had stuck the band down But added this morning my stamped image and it looks all OK might be better to make more cards when Jet Lagged. Will show you latter.
Off now to Sainsbury for the weekly shop and then a Starbucks
LOL Chris xx
On another note I would like to get the Stamp swap up a running is anyone wanting to join in, can you let me know and I'll get things started.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Chris I know you have an Imagine and I wondered if you can answer a question, so here goes! As it is basically an HP printer combined with an E is there provisions for printing a verse/greeting and then having it centred so you can then cut a fancy/plain shape around that verse?
Re: Daily Chit Chat
I am so silly, I had completely forgotten to try my C plate (it never gets used), which works a treat. A,C, die and then B. Lovely cut letters, what a wally
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Liz
Yes you can but the I does not have a function to move Images around the mat. I belive it will be in the Craft room.
I hope i can do it on my Gypsy now that I've done the update but have not tried it yet.
The links below show you how to get around this, I saw this on Linda Kaiser blog Paper Boutique
Hope that helps
Kerry were you having a BLONDE moment

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Sandra, fingers crossed for you and toes!!!!
I think there was an update for the DS, not sure what version it is but it seemed to update the other day, it has now started off at 252 second to open, not much difference from the other day, I am not if having done the update on the Gypsy that it has done anything, I thought I was supposed to see a different screen.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Carol if your Gypsy has done its uodate properly you should have a separate symbol on your screen there should be settings imagine, photos and the one you click on to design and cut from so you have 4 squares rather than 3.
The Gypsy needs manually restarting several times during its update.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Liz, that's not happened on mine!
Just made the most brillian box with lid out of Tags and bags cartridge using the mm settings, I even put a window with acetate for the lid!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Did you update your Cricut sync first? I updated sync first then I went on to update Gypsy which had several ticks on the screen in sync and I left them all ticked and then I set it off updating and it took perhaps 40 mins to do in all and I am not sure whether it was twice or three times you were told to manually restart the gypsy and then it set off again.
Where's the pic of the fab box? Let us all see.
Forgot to say I ordered the new Hunckydory magazine of C&C and it has just arrived so I am taking it with me for when I am waiting outside school to have a look through. Having it off C&C you also got some A6 foiled card pieces supposedly free and some card blanks envelopes and acetate - forgot how many! I'm not sure they were free as the pack cost £9.99 plus p&P and I believe if you order it from Cardcraft it is something like £3.99 for the magazine on its own, dont know about p&p from there. I think it will be a quarterly mag.
Dee you asked about my blog, if you go to my side panel on posts then click on the world symbol it takes you to my blog.
