Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Liz I’m sorry you got stung by the VAT man, I know how infuriating it can be, you wouldn’t mind paying a bit but they put a huge admin charge on top. Last year I had to pay 4 charges between £17 and £27, so no one was surprised more than me when my parcel came through DHL and no duty. I have played with Groovy Times and Hello Kitty at the moment. I’m going to have a play at the weekend.
I stored all of my cartridges on a shelf in my craft room but I’m running out of space so I’ve been looking on the net for storage boxes and found some in the US I liked, I was wondering if I could buy something similar here, so yesterday I went to IKEA and brought 4 clear boxes with 2 dividers in them and they stack very neatly on top of one another. They can hold 27 - 30 cartridges; in mine I have put them in Alphabetical order. The books and overlays didn’t go in as I brought the smaller size box (which cost £4.98), so I have put all my overlays and books in 2 storage boxes. See photo
Now I can buy more

Hello ladies,
Sorry I have not been on for a while. James did his skydive last week, can't belive this time last week he was falling out of the sky - here's the link to his youtube video, we bought the video as a keepsake, so glad we did, I would not like to pay for a repeat performance. We arrived at 8am and he didn't jump until 4.40 ish! They couldnt jump because it was too windy, anyway the wind did eventully calm down and they then did what they had to do.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abK6ac_26Qc
Please let me know if you get a chance to watch it. PS I'm in the background with my video camera, didn't realise how daft I looked, I was shaking with cold!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Well done James. Carol, I didn't see you!! Where did you have to go for the jump, somewhere on the East Coast?

Hi,
I am so glad it worked. Pam it was somewhere near Preston - ish.
Black Knights Parachute Centre
Hillam Lane
Cockerham
Lancashire
LA2 0DY
The pilot took them for a long ride just after taking off because they had been waiting all day for the weather to improve, you can imagine how I felt when I could no longer hear the 'little aircraft'! - loud engine! We didnt have time to wait for the video to be burnt onto a disk so they posted it a couple of days later which was so nice of them. I would recommend this centre to anybody wanting to do this for the first time or for a gift, we bought James a lovely black sweatshirt with the centre logo on as a well done, infact my mum gave Ian some money and this is what we bought from her to James.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Lou, sorry I've not been in touch. Yes it was me with the white trousers. James jumped with the guy from the centre that actually did the briefing before hand. He was so funny, all the staff were great.

Dee I am like you I love all Disney things, my particular favourites are winnie the pooh and all his friends, in fact the kids and John but me crystal figurines of all of them Winnie, Kanga, Ru, Owl etc and they each had a bit of gold on them. Shame they finished doing the set - but I have got them all! 52 going on 5!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Yes Dee I have used them, their contact is good and I was unlucky the parcel got caught by customs but explained that we get caught more often when they put a business name on the parcels rather than an individuals name and they said they would see what they can do to help us over here. The postage is $13.99 (I think) which equates to £8.60 and they take just over a week to arrive. If you watch them carefully and choose one with not too many bids you can get carts around $12-$33 dollars. The more you watch and catch them with only minutes to go the better deal you can sneek in and get. They have something like 1,400+ items listed so it is a case of hunt them out and I noticed for whatever reason that if you do a search on ebay for an item not all theirs come up so it is better to look in their ebay shop to get what you want. I got Picturesque last night and also Simply Charmed as two separate buys.
According to Royal Mail there is a 1% of parcels that get checked and charges levied and you are either lucky or not as to whether you are in the 1% or not. I agree the postage is a little more than the average to UK but if you are watching the carts carefully and for us that is between about 8pm and 10pm in general then you can get a good buy - or at least I think you can! Simply Charmed was $31 and Picturesque was $24.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Dee, I have had a look at the Spellbinders Book and have ordered a copy from Amazon and it looks as though it will not be out until May according to the email I have had from them.
Liz, I think I am right in saying that way back I read somewhere that Proudparents were something to do with Provocraft, I have looked at their items on ebay many a time but feel their postage to the UK is somewhat over the top compared with others. How Customs and Excise work amazes me sometimes, whilst I was in New Zealand I bought a jacket which was over £150 and had it sent here direct instead of bringing it back with me and didn't get stung for import duty!!!!!!!!
