Monthly Challenge - January 2011
It seems a popular concept that we have a monthly challenge and I have asked Kerry if she would take up the reigns of this again and she has kindly said she would love to host it again. I think if we keep all our challenge entries in this thread which I am making sticky so it will always be at the top we should have no difficulties finding the new challenge. I think if we set the challenge for the first of the month and all entries due in for a challenge by the end of the month. Then when hitting reply in the thread Kerry can set the title of each monthly challenge to the appropriate month. I think we should have a cricut cut as part of the challenge so we get to know our carts better and should somebody not have the particular cart they can either pm somebody who does have the cart for a white cut in their chosen size or substitute a similar cut - let me know if you disagree with any of this as it is 'our' forum so 'we' set the rules. I think it would be helpful to others to include the recipe of the submission as well as a picture, including such details as cart, cut, size, papers used etc.

January 2011 Challenge
Evening everybody, I've done more posts on here in the last day, than on the Cricut forum. Thanks Liz again, for setting this up.
Here's our very 1st challenge on our very own forum. Valentines is a lovely reason to make a project, so lets do that for our 1st challenge. Use any heart from any Cart plus some ribbon, but we must state which cart we've used when we post our creations and the recipe to help us recreate the projects if we want to. Make a card, layout, altered item, whatever you want and if you don't have a Valentine, make a romantic project, maybe for a wedding, anniversary etc. I want to keep the challenges as flexible as possible, but the most important thing is for you to all have fun
As Liz said, it's our forum, so if you have suggestions please fire away.

Ooh Chris, when are you off to Sydney. Say hello to my 2 brothers for me - I am so jealous as I would love to be over there with them again.
Are you staying in Sydney? My family live just outside at a place called Toongabbie.

Re: Monthly Challenge - January 2011
I haven't seen Scott and his family since 2008 when I was last there but Grant was over in 2009 for my parents 50th and was here again last year for my younger brother Dominic's wedding so it will be a couple of years before I see them again I would think as I just can't afford to go that often and it costs even more for them to come to the UK.
Re: Monthly Challenge - January 2011
I bet you love video chatting as it would be your next best thing I suppose.
Re: Monthly Challenge - January 2011
This sounds like fun. Count me in. Will we post our creations here in this thread or will we have another thread for them? I'm just trying to get a feel for how this is going to work. I'm looking forward to getting to know you girls.

Re: Monthly Challenge - January 2011
Evening everyone
Just an addition to the challenge notes. Some ladies only have SCAL or MTC and only a few or no carts and have asked if they can join in. Of course they can I want as many people to join in as possible. I will be setting challenges in the future that don't use the Cricut at all as it's nice to do different things. Plus if you have any ideas for challenges, please let me know.

Lou for our first challenge x
Hiyah peeps!! here's my card for the first challenge!! thankyou so much for doing challenges again Kerry because I seriously love them xxx
I decided to combine my cricut carts ad my lovely new MTC software!!
The card base is from the awesome Penny's blog and it a dream to play with as she pops all the mat bits on the cut file too. The heart cut I have used is from my All Mixed Up cart. I heat embossed the heart with copper embossing powder and there is teeny hearts embossing on the side panels too.
