January 15th - Sammy aka crciutbutterflies
Hello! Welcome to my guest design post for the month of January. First I will introduce myself to you. My name is Sammy, I live in Lincoln (UK) and I am 19 years old. I have had a Cricut for over 5 years and have been blogging about it for 4 years now. You can see my blog at: .http://cricutbutterflies.blogspot.com/
So here is my project:
Perfect for those special loved ones on Valentine ’s Day. If you would like the cut file to create this project just PM me your email address and I will happily send it to you.
To complete this project you will need:
• Cricut Expression
• Cricut Cartridge Love Struck
• Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes (Only needed for scorelines)
• A4 paper and card in at least 2 different colours
• Gems
• Foam Pads
• Sentiment Stamp
• Thin Ribbon
1. With Design Studio cut a card blank with the cut file and before unloading your mat turn the pressure and blade to 1 and then go to the mat called scorelines and click cut. You can now unload the mat and remove the cut.
2. Reload the mat with paper, I have used Ice white and go to the mat called Focal Image- Ice white and click cut. Again unload your mat and remove the cut.
3. Next reload your mat with card and use the Matt- Card part of the design studio file. You can then unload mat and remove the cut.
4. Now all that is left to do is assemble your card.
5. First take the card blank and fold on the score lines then cover the bottom half of the heart below the score line with adhesive then stick on the cut out of the heart that you have done in card.
6. Then put adhesive on the back of the focal image and stick this on top.
7. Next add the other heart don e in card to the inside base.
8. Take the white small heart and stamp on the front with a sentiment and then attach a foam pad to the bottom and stick on the base of the card so that it will keep the easel part of the card upright.
9. Now all that is left to do is add the finishing touches, I have added gems and a bit of ribbon.

Boxes To Go! January 28th - Amy aka Aimitup
Hi There! I am happy to be the second guest designer for Cricutholics! I was so honored when Liz invited me to join.
A little about me...my name is Amy and I live in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. I am a Project Manager & have a Photo Booth Business with my friend. I love to create scrapbook layouts. I also create shadowboxes for Baby's Rooms & Wedding Invites. I also like to create 3D projects like the one I am sharing today. I design for SVG Cuts and Creative Charms. Check out my blog to see some of my projects.http://aimitup.blogspot.com/
I use a Cricut Expression and do not own any cartridges except for the one that came with my machine. I exclusively use SCAL (Sure Cuts Alot). I purchase a majority of my SVGs from SVG Cuts[/img]http://svgcuts.com/blog/category/fsvgotw/. They also offer some great freebies. I am on a Mac.
I made these take out boxes using the SVG Cuts Crush On You Boxes Collection. After you open the program you just import them in and cut them on the Cricut. The score lines even cut on the Cricut - you do have to hand score the top folds.
For the Snowman Box I also cut a snowman from the Snowmen Village Collection. I inked some of the edges and added embellishments. I use Scotch 3D tape to add dimension. After assembled I applied to the take out box. Added a wire from my Chinese take out and finished it off with a bow. Papers are from Bo Bunny Midnight Frost Collection.
For the Heart Box I cut some solid AC Cardstock. I also cut the heart from the Be Mine Valentines Collection. Added some pearls from Creative Charms and inking. The heart opens up on the front and you can write a message on the inside. I finished off the top with a strip of paper with ribbon. I attached it to the side of the box with Creative Charms brads.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a guest designer - I'll be back in the fall with another designer spot. But in the meantime I'll see you in the forum....I always love a good challenge and plan to join in! Take Care ~ Amy
p.s. I can not upload the image to this forum -- please check out my blog! http://aimitup.blogspot.com/

Fab designs Amy, love them both. Thanks for being our guest designer. Good to see things other than cards, broadens our knowledge base. Is it OK for anybody struggling with SCAL to contact you for advice and guidance?
Re: January 15th Sammy aka Cricutbutterflies
Thank you Liz! I appreciate you adding in the photo. Sure anyone with questions on SCAL please contact me. I am happy to help out.

Amy, those boxes are adorable. I love that snowman. I have SCAL on my computer and really need to learn how to use it. Love your blog, and can't wait to sit down this weekend and explore your blog.
