Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi all I have been catching up on all the gossip.
Enfys I have had a look at the web site cricutmachine.com, great offers.
Ok I will tell you what I have gone and done, the money I have made from making cards and the boxes over Christmas ,I have brought a few new cartridges. Not one or three but Sixteen.
They are
Robots, Creat & Critter, Nursery Rhymes, Give a hoot, Preserves, Just because cards, Hello Kitty, Best of Pixar, Disney Classics, Groovy Times, Life's a party, Nate's ABC, Pack your bags. April Showers, Mothers day bouquet and Spring Holiday.
I worked out that I have saved over £300 , So lets see how much Customs I get charged !!!!

Wow Lesley, 16 carts at once!!!!! I think I would be out when they arrive and dread to think how much import duty you will have to pay. I have just received Mother's Day Bouquet and love the flowers on it.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
16 Lesley!!! I really hope you don't get caught by customs either. Create a Critter is one of my all time fav carts. Apart from the cute animals, there is so much stuff you use for other occasions.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
THANKYOU Enfys!! Brilliant offer I have treated myself to Boys will be boys and Doodlecharms
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Lesley, you will LOVE Create a Critter, its by far and away my favourite cartridge
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Crikey Lesley, don't blame me if customs come after you - mind you it seems so hit and miss you may be okay. I know quite a few people who haven't had to pay anything on new machines or a gypsy. Kat, Boys will be Boys is a super cartridge, I love it.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Good morning all, a miserable day again!!!!!! It looks as though the new cartridges there are coming out are only for the Imagine now after looking at the Hello Thursday email and Provocraft are saying "Goodbye" to quite a few of the old ones, I wonder why?

Re: Daily Chit Chat
I noticed that too. I hope they dont continue to ignore the origianl machines and I dont think it fair to bring out Imagine only carts and take off original carts, it might build the Imagine's library but reduces the library for the new comers who only want a cut only machine - are they thinking of phasing out the cut only machines?
Re: Daily Chit Chat
No, after talking to some of the PC marketing folk at CHA I am sure they are not phasing out the cut only machines - they are bringing out the E2 in april after all. That will take the imagine carts as well as the regular ones, although they won't print, just cut. I think the reason they are retiring the older ones is just that their inventory is so big now with so many newer carts. 5 years ago they used to release about 4 new ones a year, now it's 4 new ones almost every month!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Good to have somebody in the know! Glad to hear it but the E2 is only a limited edition so it makes you wonder! Thanks for the gen En (I'm a poet and dont know it!)
Re: Daily Chit Chat
The cricut green E2 is a limited edition, on sale at HSN in the US for the 5th anniversary of the cricut machine, but it will be the next generation of machines after that. I think HSN have the exclusive for 3 months, after that it will start going into the shops. The WiFi function will be up and running from about July. They have fixed some of the MB problems by the way, including the log in business, so it is faster and you stay logged in for ages again now. I haven't tested how long though...I used to be logged in to the old MB constantly, so don't know if that will work now.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Enfys, I have watched a video about the E2 machine and they said that once they have sold out on HSN they wouldn't be making anymore which I thought was a bit odd and I have also heard that it is being launched on either Ideal World or C&C at the same time as HSN. Do you know when the "Craft Room" will be available?

Re: Daily Chit Chat
I am really looking forward to the E2 coming out. How does the machine work with no overlays though????
SUPER looking forward to the wireless

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Another part that gets me confused is how the E2 can use imagine cartridges as it only cuts! Anybody now the answer course I thought the purpose of imagine cartridges was for layers and patterns and colours.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
No, I have it from the horses mouth that the E2 will be available in the future, it's common sense really, they aren't going to develop a whole new machine and just produce a few of them. You don't need overlays because you use a touch screen that is built into the machine to make your cuts. Liz, some of the imagine cartridges are patterns, but half of them are shapes, there are some really nice imagine cartridges. The retail price is set at $399 apparently
They are ironing out the kinks of craft room, no launch date yet, but some circle members have the beta copy to play with, so I don't think it will be long. I had a go in LA, and it is super-easy to use, and I am a bit of a dummy when it comes to computers. You choose your cartridge, then drag an image onto the mat. You resize it by dragging the box around it. I put some flowers into a pot, the stems that were below the lip of the pot wouldn't cut, so automatic hide contour. You also have automatic welding, if two items are touching, they will cut as one.

Have some sort of competition on your blog and give them to a winner or two! Then somebody will benefit from your hard earned pennies and spending spree
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Is everybody partying and left me behind? You must all have been very busy today as there has not been much chat. Does anybody know the cheapest place to get an adapter and narrow tape for an ATG is? I had half inch wide with mine and it is slowly coming to an end but I feel it is much too wide and has been a pain to apply with long threads and all sorts so hasnt made a neat job at all. Any advice on us of ATG would be much appreciated at the moment it seems a bit of a waste of money.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Liz
3m have the adaptors on sale atm
http://www.3mselect.co.uk/p-1963-scotch-atg-applicator-gun-adaptor-for-6mm-14-width-atg-tape.aspx
I get my 1/4 inch tape from tapes-direct.co.uk You'll need product code DSTT0633. They also have the adaptors (Product code ATG-ADAP)
I really love love love love love my ATG, I hope once you have the more narrow tape set up that you'll enjoy yours more.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
I have been partying today with my Sister's today for first time in about a year, we met up in Sheffield and boy what a journey we had getting there through rain, fog and snow!!!!!!! but it was all worthwhile as we had a good chin wag and did a lot of catching up. Crafting is being put on hold for a while as I am about to start making a Photobook of our trip down under which could take me rather a long time as I have about 2,000 photo's to look through and edit and not only that I have got 3 of my Grandchildren coming to stay for the week which should be fun as they are not the best behaved children at times, my fingers might be itching!!!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Thanks Kat I'll take a look.
Boy Pam sounds like you will have your hands full in more than one direction! Half term arrives and is soon gone by the time everything has been fitted in that either of them want to do! Dom is lucky as his cadets and karate continue through all holidays bar about Christmas Day and Boxing Day! But Amber's CU meetings break for holidays. It never ceases to amaze me how most clubs run, no matter what sort, through term time when time is tight but when the holidays arrive when they have time on their hands the clubs have a break too - cant be run by Mum's! Mind you I say time on their hands Amber has plenty of art and textiles to do as if she was still at school.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Can't help sorry Liz, I have a 1/4" ATG, and I buy enough tapes for the year from the Tape Depot in the USA. I can imagine that a 1/2" tape would be far too wide for cardmaking.
Maybe everyone is just busy doing weekendy things today? I have my son, wife and two little grandsons coming up for the day tomorrow, so need to get back to the kitchen.
