Hiya, I am here too! Haven't felt great today, bit of a dodgy tum and feeling dizzy, horrible, so I am taking it easy, no cards for me today. Just waiting for big fat gypsy wedding, (compelling viewing) then I will be off to bed for an early night.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Glad to hear everybody's OK. Don't think I would get many tips from my customers they are always looking for hand outs from me!
How's the airbrushing going En? Where has Lou gone to, its not like her not to be around and about.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi ladies, what a disaster, didn't get my car, we have been lied to.........
I sourced a car through another of the dealers branches, they told my dealer that there were 33,000 miles on the clock when they were advertising it at 12,500 ish. We told them we wanted the car, when Ian rang up the other dealer they told him there were 12,500 ish on the clock, when our dealer sent somebody down to get the car it was apparently rejected (without our knowledge) because of bad dents and scratches on the bodywork, Ian went to see the car on his way home from London, in the meantime, yesterday morning even before I had been told it had been rejected, they had sold it on to somebody else, not sure what is happening to our deposit? Ian said the bodywork was fine but there was a tow bar on the car which was not advertised... It Didn't show on the photograph of the rear shot on the Internet. I wonder if trading standards would like to know. The fact that somebody had gone down to pick up the car for us is testament that we wanted the car. The manager at the other dealership where the car is didn't know (apparently that our dealership were sending somebody down). Total lies all around. Now I cannot go to watch James do his sky dive on Saturday - it's his 16th today. Ians car is only a two seater and I was going to follow on to Preston in the new car.
Well going to do James a chocolate cake - his favourite.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
What a sad story Carol. I am sure trading standards would be more than interested and perhaps the local paper would be interested in sending a reporter to hear your story. Could you not hire a car for the weekend and all go together?

No tow bar on this car, so when was it fitted?
Ians photo clearly shows a tow bar!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Carol I definitely would follow it through further as it is transactions like this one that give the motor trade a bad name. Call your local paper and let them do some digging.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Liz, we've told the dealership we want a like for like car but without the tow bar, I think Ian shook them up a bit, they never expected him to be passing the dealership in Walsall.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Good Morning all, it is a lovely day here for a change.
Carol, sorry to hear about your car, I would get Trading Standards involved!!!!! Do you go to Preston on Saturday? I had already been twice last week that is why I didn't go again.
Enfys, I hope you are feeling better today
Liz, how is your Mum's toe?

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Morning Pam, I did go to Preston with pat seeing as I was carless!!......
There were not as many people there as last time which was a lot better, at least you could watch the demos, Nancy and steph were there from create and craft, they make everything look so easy.
Enfys, just read the last posts, hope you get better soon.
Liz, if you become a taxi, maybe I could hire you for Saturday, at least you and I would be able to talk crafty....... Much better than talking cars, totally had enough now.
Liz, is your mums toe no better, I suppose it takes a while for things to mend.

Way back I seem to remember that someone was looking for a Martha Stewart Scoreboard, Oysterstamps are advertising that they have a limited stock of them which they are going to start shipping next week.
Carol, I have just seen you last post, Steph is no longer working for C&C she is going to be a guest presenter from now on so that she can concentrate on her own Business.

Hi everybody Mum's toe is less infection after 2+ weeks of antibiotics but now all the skin is drying out and shedding a bit like a snake skin so she finds walking very hard and as soon as she tries her foot swells up then she cant even get her sandles on!
Hi Pam, it was me looking for a MArtha scoreboard I will pop over to oyseter and have a look, thanks for letting me know.
Well that would be a possibility Carol, cars always bore me!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Carol, that is just awful, and I agree, let trading standards know. No wonder car dealers have such a bad reputation. Is there anyone who could lend you are car??
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Kerry, my friends son has loaned me his fiesta but only mon to fri, he is learning to drive so needs it from Friday night till Sunday night when Ian takes me to pick it up which is such a help to me. I told them I didn't need it after last night! Looks like I have to make a grovelling phone call.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Carol, I think Steph left around the New Year from what I have been told by a friend who knows her. Yes I know she was on last night at 9.p.m. with Shaun who welcomed her back.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Carol Im so sorry to hear about your car. If I was you I would take it further.
In a hours time I'm off to Joshua's school for parents day. my slot is 1.30.
My first stop is the English teacher, Josh's spelling is not that good and he is 14 so I want to see what we and the teachers can do to help him along. I think they have been talking about what they want to do when they leave school and he has said he wants to be a police man or write programs for computer games. So I think its about time we stepped up the plate, I have told him less time on the Xbox, if any one has lads you will know that went down like a lead balloon

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Kat, I'll probably go on the thursday, so we can meet up in the el grotto coffee place again.
Just got an email from cricutmachine.com they have loads of carts for $19.95 and if you put international in the coupon code, they will take off another 5% to help with shipping costs. I had a quick look and some of the newish ones were there, like straight from the nest.
Carol, are you Carol Moore? If so, you forgot to check my blog for winners! Soemone called Carol Moore won the cricut magazine but hasn't claimed it yet.
Liz, I promised to tell you about the airbrush, so putting it on here for everyone to see. It's quite a flimsy little contraption, just a length of plastic hose that attaches to an air canister, with an attachment the other end that you clip your promarker into. That has a plastic trigger that you press to release the air, which wooshes onto the fine bullet tip nib, and forces the ink out into a fine mist. I think you can buy universal compressed air canisters at places like Hobbycraft for about £15. Letraset sent me theirs with the promarker airbrush, so not sure about that, or how long it will last. You screw the hose into the can of compressed air, click in your promarker and start airbushing. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, I got big blobs everywhere the first time, but basically, the closer you go to the paper, the denser the colour, further away just a light mist. I have no idea how quickly the airbrush will 'dry out' the pens, because I haven't been using it for long enough. It's a neat bit of kit, think it costs about £25 which is a lot for what it is - bits of plastic basically - but if someone is keen on doing graphic design/airbrushed effects on their work, it is a good addition to your stash.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Afternoon ladies,
Enfys, I have left you a couple of messages in different ways....... Ohhhh I do hope it's me. Maybe my luck is turning, you never know!
The airbrush, Ian had one at uni and it was pretty much the same thing, air canister, bit of pipe and nozzle on end of pipe which you could change the air flow. Pretty cool and you could achieve some fantastic results, the kids version is the pen that you blow (don't suck)! Woolworths used to sell them, Chris especially had loads of them.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Thanks Enfys I just wish she could have a try before you buy. She and lots of her friends are very impressed with the promarkers but.......................... I'm not sure the other parents will like the price plus she has been doing an A3 floral page and there is a fair amount of pink on it and the pen (a new one) has threatened to run out several times during the colouring in and she has had to stand it on its end leave for a while and then go back to it! So I am not sure how practical they are for larger projects.
Art GCSE is costing me a fortune! Her final project in preparation for the 10 hours to paint a canvas has cost me £70 in materials up to press and we are only about 40-50% of the way there! God help me next year as Dom will be doing GCSE and Amber will be doing AS to go on to A2 (our A levels).
Dom is still continuing his path towards being a computer gaming programmer/animator and is dearly casting his eye towards a MAC laptop I am passing out at how much they cost! Never used a MAC myself but believe they are supposed to be amazing for the graphics side of things but got totally confused when I was reading up yesterday and it said you could use your PC Microsoft Office on it, I thought you had to have totally different programs for MAC than for PC. Anybody in the know wnating to share any info I would appreciate it. The kids are entitled to some payment from the car crash two years ago that caused my surgery and further issues but the money goes into court until they are 18 but they can ask a judge if they can spend it on educational things so we have to do some quick investigations on the topic as we are due back in court on Monday. Help please any MAC users.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Liz, I have a MAC and love it, it so easy to use, as far as Microsoft Office is concerned you have to have a MAC version but if Dom or Amber are using it you can buy a version for students which is a little cheaper than the full version.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Well that was what I originally understood but I was reafdding bits in a hurry last night on apple site and they said you can use same version so I am totally confused!!! It isnt just buying the laptop but it is replacing all the programs he uses! Mega bucks, hence trying to loook at it in a hurry whilst he has the opportunity, they dont come every week or at least under these circumstances I hope not every week (no more car accidents please)!
