Yes Dee it is back to normal but most of the washing was down whilst I was away, Hotel Launderette's are very useful, never tried them before!!!! the worst thing is having to plan meals again, 5 weeks of eating out was a luxury I could easily live with

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Congratulations Dee for your son my son is in the military cadets has been for the past year and thoroughly enjoys it and has quite brought him out from being shy and retiring - maybe a bit too much at times! He is going to do his Duke of Edinburough through them.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Liz my son is a bit like that or should i say was every since he joined it changed him, before he started he did'nt mix very well and did'nt do much of any thing, every thing changed when he joined, now he has no time to be in he has two nights at collage doing electrical and two night's at cadet's and also fit's the gym in phew make's me sleepy just thinking about it and on top of all that he is doing child care and teacher training in a school four day's a week, the only problem is he dose'nt get paid
Re: Daily Chit Chat

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Liz Josh is also doing his Duke of Edinburgh through school (bronze) he is doing his practice walk in March, ready for the big one in June. I have a big list of things he needs ( walking boots, water proofs, large rucksack, the list goes on and on ) god noise how much that's going to cost. Anyway at least he's happy. He stays over at school on a Friday night to practice his map reading and learning how to cook pasta, they have not got the cooking of the pasta quite right yet, they keep on over cooking it and it goes sloppy. At first I was having sleepless nights worrying that they will get lost , wont be able to cook anything , but talking to some of my friends from work whose children have done it they said it is all very controlled and there is marshals at stop off points so im hoping they will be fine , no they will be fine
Fi Im off in Feb (school Hol week) will you be doing any craft workshops then

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Lesley I know what you mean about the never ending list, when Dom joined cadets I was told he didnt need to buy anything apart from a set of boots, so all sounded great, then came the first stop over night so he needed sleeping bag and ground mat - then the bloody event never came off! At least it was one thing bought then he had a cadet weekend so he needed mess tins, water bottle, burgin, waterproofs torch, head torch, compass ...... webbing and god knows what else well actually I do know the next thing is a little stove thingy, tent, plus ............................................................ the lists just go on and on and whilst they are growing do you buy too big and they brake their necks in it or buy it to fit and have to replace it. Dom was very quiet had his few close friends and 24/7 was on his computer, Wii, playstation or Xbox 360 but now it is 2 nights a week cadets, one night karate and then some weekend things with the cadets - Mum of course being cheuffeur so all this can take place.
Not sure what happened near us today there was some big accident at a set of crossroads perhaps 250 yds from us and it had the road closed and the air ambulance had to land on the road - I am assuming it was pretty bad as they sent the helicopter otherwise it would have been an ordinary ambulance out of Derby or Belper. There are painted lines in pink and blue all over the road and broken glass and metal but all vehicles had been removed by the time I did the school run. The air ambulance was circling round several times before it could actually land and was down on the ground a good 30/40 mins before it took off again. Quite sad really as today was the funeral of a lady in the next village who was an after school carer and dinner lady, she had been knocked down in the village on 11/1/11 and died on reaching the hospital, driver wasnt injured and that was an accident at 545am and didnt make sense at all.
Lesley have you tried Anchor supplies in Ripley for some of your sons stuff, that is where we get lots of Dom's stuff for cadets from.
Oh well better get back to the kitchen by big daughter (by age she is only 5' 2" tall and Dom is 5' 6") is coming for dinner with her fella. Check back later.

It's a very bright, cold morning!!
Happy birthday Kate, have a great day.
Must get crafting, not done anything - tons of ironing to be done, why couldn't creases be in fashion - now there's a thought.......
