Under where it shows who is logged in, what is BOTS:google ?

Just curious, are we being watched?

Basically yes Carol. Google bots crawl through blogs, forums, sites etc to ascertain where they will show up in Google ranking. Google is paying us a lot of attention at the moment and will be deciding how and where to list us, so that people who do a search under various keywords might find us!

Lz, just a concern, can anybody access our passwords or anything like that? Do we need to be extra careful? i

No nobody can access the passwords. Even if it was hacked I am not sure they could get at passwords (I cant see anybody's passwords through Admin even) and that is the same for every site on the internet whether they are blogs, forums or sites. Goggle bots aren't looking at that, each page on the internet although we just type in our responses are all coded, everypage on the internet has keywords attached to them and forwhatever keyword is assigned to a page there should be a keyword density within the text of that word/phrase and google calculates density and number of visitors and other secret things and it is all these that formulate how google list you and what positioning in the google listing you are. So say for example Pink Elephant was a keyword amd a whole page did not have Pink Elephant mentioned once then google would not rank that site at all it would not even get listed for a search on Pink Elephants. It is a science of its own to get sites ranked as if you make the keyword density too high you get penalised if you get it to low then you are miles down the listing. Anybody who has a site selling an item is looking to be in the first 3 pages of google listings it is nice to be in position 1-5 but so long as you are on the first three pages you are doing OK. There have been studies which show if we are looking for something then we will go as far as three pages but after that we are getting bored and dont keep looking. This is the kind of information the bots collect. In a forum it is hard to be keyword specific to a page as we discuss so many things but this is why we also have different threads which cover a topic, then there is a chance the topic covered will be associated with the topic of the page and the topic of the page will be taken as the keyword so you can stand a chance of that particular thread being ranked. It happens with blogs too, as well as sites selling things. There lies your first lesson in SEO (search engine optimisation) which is a fancy title for people who charge you a fortune, make promises they cant keep about you being top ranked etc. Just as you think you have the formula bots are looking for they go and change them and you can rank say No 1 on Google and be 30 on Yahoo and 50 on MSN and not even listed on others. It is not possible to be number 1 on all of them at the same time, so when you own a site you have to try and guess which search engine brings you most customers and go for that one and try and please them.
Hope that makes some sort of sense to you and relieves you of any concerns.

Oh Lesley next Cricut club is Sat the 26th Feb, if you could make it it would be lovely to see you. Lou and Dee will be there and lots of others (hopefully too). Well when I say lots we are a small group of about 10 on average, could be a max of 20 if everybody was able to make it on the same week. We chat loads and share things so it's great fun you would be made very welcome as everybody is very friendly, and the tea and coffee is free flowing. I'm having a few days away in half-term with the family.

Yeah got power back it was off for about an hour, boy did I miss it. Had lots of stuff to get ready for tomorrow, never mind nearly finished. Hope to catch up with you all again tomorrow after Club.

Oh me again thanks Dee for the lovely comment, I've had a lovely time with everybody today. Even if I didn't get anything done myself it's great to be able to help people and see them enjoying themselves, that means more to me than anything.
Just I have to say a BIG THANKS to DEE for my early birthday cake , only one problem was by the time I got home the boys had eaten half. Dee makes the best cakes ever and the boys just love them, guess it's a good job they helped as the waistline does need watching !!!! or may be it's past watching

i am stil super cheery after having such a fabby day yesterday at crciut club!! lots of making and giggling!!!

whats everybody up to today? ryan and scott are off to the coast for ryan to play a football match and me and mo are getting ready to go out to play in my crafty garage ( i still have bits to out away from yesterday!!!!)

its a bit foggy here so i am hopingfor some sunshine to pop through it this afternoon, it seems to be brightening up a treat!!

Sorry, just remembered.... has anybody seen the new Expression 2 - wireless and everything, looks like Provocraft are getting rid of the overlay so new cartridges to us will be useless. There is a new design studio aswell, I hope everbody with a Gypsy kept their cartridges, it seems likely that you need the cartridges, I don't know why but I am sure there is a Provocraft reason!! - money. Can we say things like that without being kicked off the board? only joking.

I have seen the Expression 2 as well, You can go here: https://www.facebook.com/OfficialCricut there is a video about just over half way down the page. I think it looks good, I wish they would just make a wireless dongle though that you can put in your cricut, I hate having the wire cross my living room to where my cricut sits, I am sure they would make a KILLING with it too, but I would think that is completely off the cards now they have created the Expression 2

I am pretty sure that new carts will still have the overlays, they cant just forget about the baby bug, the E and the cake, they all need overlays. They aren't stupid enough to stop producing carts for 100% of the machines they have out there.

The new design studio type thing also looks good, its going to be free and will be online. I would think they would just run the old DS and this beta one in tandem for a while though... people keep asking if it's PC's answer to SCAL, I sincerely doubt it will be.

Hi ladies i have had a busy day today. Got up at 8.30, put my face on (makeup) , took son to Rugby, came back home and finished doing my hair, picked son up and dropped him off home to get changed then we went to ASda and put some petrol in the car, then we had a trip to Loughbrough and went to Go Outdoors. I brought Josh some walking boots, large rucksack, tourch, a mat to sleep on, drinks bottle, metal plate, socks and a knife,fork and spoon set. All this cost just under £100. Im so glad he has got everything elce. When we got home i made the dinner, did two meals on wheels (my mum and Ants mum), then i came home and got stuck into some cards i had to make. Phew what a day, im now chilling out with a glass of wine haaaaaa bliss
