Hi Liz,

The Harrogate show is at the showground where they have the exhibitions outside town, you drive down a long - long - dirt/tarmac track, at the side of Sainsburys!

Sandra, tried that but all I get when i restart is 'LOADING'.

Dee, my sister used to live in St Helier but now lives in St Brelades. My brother in law is a photographer over there, I spent a couple of school holidays - you know the 7 weeks one from years ago. I remember when I was 16, I came home and my mum didnt recognise me, my hair was white and my skin was brown, that for me was a first, we used to holiday in Rhyl for many years and all I went was 'red'.

Girls when I break something, I do not do it by halves!!!!!! James is just like me!!!!! dont tell him I said that......

Hi Girls, my craftroom has some new goodies after my trip to Harrogate, thankfully it wasn't too busy and got some good deals on nesties from Oysterstamps - 4 for £50 so four of us shared the cost. I haven't even unpacked all my bags but I suppose I had better soon or I shall have forgotten why I have bought some of the stuff. I bought loads of things also from Craftwork Cards as I love their cards etc.

Carol, have you sorted your Gypsy out yet?

Funny you should say your Gypsy froze. I was doing a search on it this morning and it all froze up, no buttons would work and it had the normal egg timer, I am thinking, so I just left it and eventually it unfroze. HAvent checked if it is up to date.

Can anybody tell me, the answer to a puzzle. When we had our cricuts we were told to not change cartidges whilst machine was on but on C&C the other day Mel said this had been fixed and was now allowed but is this only new criciuts or has the change been made in the updates so it applies to all cricuts?

Liz, regarding changing cartridges whilst the cricut is on, you have always been able to do this! When you use Design Studio and use two different cartridges on a layout, after you press cut, it will ask you to insert each cartridge in turn that the layout requires!

I know if you try and press any buttons, non will work if there is not a cartridge or jukebox connected, I know this because I tried to do something the other night and I had taken the cartridge out of the front of the cricut and didnt have the Gypsy plugged in!

She is still not working!!!!!!!

Fingers crossed for your hubby Sandra and an answer. It is awful when our loved ones are in pain and poorly and modern technology cant find the answers. I speak from experience on this matter I think I could have written an encyclopedia about it and how it affects the patients and their relatives!

Hope everybody else healthy and wise but doubtfull about the wealthy as there seems to have been some spending going on out there!

I am going to treat myself to the A3 printer off C&C and then sell my small A4 and also the older Epson A3 printer I have. Get rid of two to make room for 1. There is logic somewhere if you look hard enough and the new peinter will be good for kids and their various studies. So my borthday/xmas present is really to benefit others!

Hubby home with morphine tablet and has to see the specialist in clinc next week for the results of the scan

So now the morphine is making him feel sick all the time they say that will wear off after a few days they also have given him some tablet for joint inflammation
That when you read the paper that is in the box it says do not take if you have this and that he has most of what it. Says he was told a couple of years ago that he could jot have anti infamatery tablet as he has trouble with a bleed in his stomach that keeps coming and going daughter who is a pharmacist says not to give him them till he see the specialist all good fun why dont they read his records before they give him something

I dont think any doctor reads records and by the time you have finished taking tablets to counteract the side affects of what various medications you are taking cause you end up on multiple tablets sometimes worst than the original complaint. Amber at 16 takes 31 tablets a day and is still not pain free.

Dom has just returned from his cadet shooting competition weekend with one first two second, three trophies and will have county colours to wear on his unifrom, but the school wont let him have a county colours tie as cadets is not a recognised sporting group!

Hi Sandra. I have just got the Martha Stewart Tool for making the spirals from the USA, it is very good and easy to use.

I watched the Spellbinders show yesterday and was very impressed with the new dies and almost ordered some from C&C but decided to have a look around online, bearing in mind that C&C and IW said that they couldn't be bought any where else as they were not in the shops yet, and to my surprised I found them on various sites much cheaper, so my motto is now to look around before hitting the button!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies,

Been logged out again, I have now written all my details down so if somebody gets my details they will now know the morse code I have written it it.... not sure if I will remember in a couple of weeks. hahahahah

Anyway, Gypsy now deceased, but the good news is Provocraft are sending me a new one with my old serial number so I should - I say SHOULD, be able to log on and not have lost anything - year right!!!!

Have a look at the message from Darryn at Provocraft, 2am Friday morning!

Hi Carol,

My Name is Darryn with Gypsy Technical Support. Wayne has been transferred to the IT dept. and has passed your question on to me. I have never known the Gypsy to freeze because of a file name being too long.

In the meantime you can try these steps.

Do a hard Calibration Reset. This is done with the power off hold down the upper left wing shaped button and the round silver menu button and then hold the power button in until you see a Rainbow test pattern screen on your Gypsy. Once the rainbow appears then let go of the buttons and follow the on screen prompts and instructions from your Gypsy. If it will not go into the rainbow screen and just automatically goes to loading instead, then this process is not going to work.

See if you can put your Gypsy in Recovery mode. This is done as above, but instead of holding down the left upper wing shaped button in the process press and hold in the lower wing shaped button. The screen should turn blue. If it goes into recovery mode then power the machine off and open Cricut Sync without the Gypsy connected. When you get a message that says your Gypsy was not detected then press help in the Cricut Sync then Gypsy troubleshooting. You then have some questions to answer. The process we are trying to do will reset your Gypsy back to its factory settings. This will unlink any cartridges that you have linked and delete any designs you have saved. You will be given the opportunity to back you your designs. Just keep in mind if this works you will need to re-link all your cartridges. After the Format And Restore is completed you will then need to do a regular Cricut Sync update to load all the newest cartridges into the library.

Lastly, if your Gypsy is still within its one year warranty period then you can contact our Apeldoorn Customer Support Center for replacement options. There phone # is 08081017032

Thank you.

Darryn

I did explain my Gypsy was purchased April 2010 and they were still willing to change it for me. I wonder if it is because I raised a question!!!!! if after a year and you are still updating the Gypsy and Cricut with new downloads and cartridges, updates and other things, if something goes wrong with the software and your Gypsy is GOOSED, how do you stand. I did explain upto the last update my Gypsy was FINE and that a lot of people of the Gyspy forum were suddenly asking 'what's wrong with my Gypsy'?

Do you think this could be an issue for the Cricut in the future seeing as they seem to bring out new machines/updates every couple of months these days.

The other thing I have been curious about - you know Provocraft always said the spare buttons on our early Cricuts would be used at later dates, they I wonder if they have forgotten to give us any new features!!!!!

But, (I hate this phrase) AT THE END OF THE DAY!!! I got a result and to talk on the phone to a lovely guy from Provocraft on a 08081017032 number, the first thing he said when answering the phone was 'sorry for the delay', I think he was putting the ketttle on because it was 'Mountain Time' or thats what it said when I got the answer machine at 9.am GMT.

Oh, Ian has the man flu! honestly, he is never ill, this week he went into work everyday, I even offered to be his driver I felt so sorry for him. And - we are now getting two eggs a day! I do love having the girls and they are getting to be so friendly, Ian and I have been down to see them at lunch time and on two occasions whilst Ian and I were stroking them whilst they were in their box, they laid an egg, I think they like the attention at this particular time of the day - talk about fresh!

I will read your posts in a little while, just making Ian a cup of tea, anybody want one?

Carol X - ps. not done a spell check.

Oh and after my Gypsy update, my keyboard went funny, the @ sign was where the " is on the number 2. It is back to normal now, maybe I should have told Darryn this as well!!!!

Sanda, just cought up a little, hope your hubby is ok and manages to be able to relax a little. Bloomin morphine, I had to have it and all I kept saying to Ian when I was in hospital was 'I think I have fleas in my bed' I kept telling the nurses but they did nothing. When I came out of hospital there was a song on the radio on the way home - one of the lyrics was 'morphine makes you itch', I think somebody up there was telling me what the nurses should have known, now how spooky is that! Morphine attacks the nerves - or something like that!

Anyway Sandra, what was your post about doing a Gypsy cut for a Martha Stewart cut????? sorry if this is not making any sense to you? Have I missed out on something?

Last post for today!!

This is the last post from Darryn at Provocraft - just incase anybody has any issues later on.

If it is still stuck on Gypsy Loading after all my suggestions, then the best solution is to replace the Gypsy. It has nothing to do with anything you did, these devices sometimes fail, like any electronic device is prone to do sometime or the other. Just contact the phone # listed below for direction on how to go about replacing the device. We do allow up to 15 months from the date of purchase in certain circumstances for replacement. This is one of those cases.

Thank you.

Darryn
---------------------------------

No trouble at all. Yes please pass it on to others who may be having the same issue.

Thank you.

Darryn

--------------------

So I am doing as I was told!

Carol some one on the Cricut message board did a vidio on how to use the Martha Stewart ornament template this is the link to it http://community.provocraft.com/Cricut-Community_postst92960_I-love-the-ornament-tool-from-Martha-Stewart----Super-Easy.aspx

And then some one else posted how to make one with the gypsy so thought I would have a try took me a few try's to get it to work but done it now

Hubby had to see specialist for results of the scan I had a idea what the result would be he has another cancer cell on in one of the vertabry gaps so more radiation therapy have to see the cancer specialist on the 5th oct they have found it early again so fingers crossed
He now has tablet to stop him feeling sick and some to stop the panic attacks so he is now eating again and not in as much pain so
