July 28th guest designer!
Well a day early! I'm Amy Chomas of Chomas Creations! I make mini gel pen holders, mini Sharpie holders, embossing kits and engraving tips for the Cricut!
I made this card for my Grampa's 85th birthday which we will be celebrating this weekend!
One of my favorite things to do with the Chomas Creations embossing tip is to score my own cards. This is super easy and can save steps when card making. I have a free file on my blog that you can download with Design Studio and George to make these cards here... card file
I added a big rectangle in Design Studio on the emboss layer, with some of the edges off of the paper (you don't need this part of the rectangle) to emboss with the Chomas Creations embossing tip.
Using a multi-cut of 2, emboss or score the paper with the Cricut.
Without removing the mat from the machine, remove the Chomas Creations embossing tip and add the blade. Swith over to the blade. Click the cut layer tab in Design Studio and cut out the card rectangles.
Now you can remove the mat from the machine, and take your cards off your mat, fold them in half and use a bone folder to smooth the edge. SUPER EASY! I like to make a bunch at the same time to have on hand when I want to do a quick card.
Here is the card I made for today. I used the Chomas Creations mini gel pen to draw the sentiment on the card. Then without removing the mat from the Cricut, I cut the banner image. The papers and ribbon are Imaginesce. I used Stickles to bling it up a bit!
Hope you enjoyed the card instructions! To get more info on Chomas Creations, visit my blog...
