Re: Hello
Hi Everyone--I'm Jeri and another Michigander, like Amy Chomas. I'm married for 38 yrs. to a great guy, father and grandpa. We have five adult kids, only one unmarried, and eight grandkids with number nine on the way (due in May). My husband and I retired in 2009--he was a policeman and I was an elementary educator. We spent half of last year traveling around the United States in our luxury fifth-wheel RV. I've been scrapping for over 15 yrs. and designing cards for three. I design for four blogs...Cricut Cardz, BBTB2, Paper Cutz and The Cutting Cafe. Liz asked me to be a guest designer and I can't wait for my turn in July. I am currently working on a Dr. Seuss scrapbook for my 9th grandchild-to-be. My DS and DIL will be doing the baby nursery in a Dr. Seuss theme, hence the scrapbook. It has been a real challenge without a cartridge for Dr. Seuss. Maybe I should suggest this to Provo Craft. I design with the help of my Cricut Expression, Imagine, Design Studio, Gypsy, Cuttlebug and somewhere around 70 cartridges. I couldn't live without my Gypsy, especially while traveling. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Hello
Hello everybody , I'm Kate and some of you may know me from the previous message board .I live in Thetford ,Norfolk and have 3 children and 2 grandsons .
I have the expression ,a gypsy design studio and loads of cricut carts and dont use them as much as i should.
Im looking forward to joining in with madame whiplash's ( whoops i mean Kerry's) challenges again as they make me use these very expensive collectibles .
I also use SCAL2 a lot i never tried the original SCAL as you had to use Inkscape but you don't have to in Scal2.I find it much easier for cutting fonts than the carts and of course you can cut so many different ones.

Hello from across the pond
Greetings, fellow Cricuteers! I can't really say how I came upon you ... I hop around so much on this wonderful internet ... but I am glad to have found you and I hope to spend more time visiting here.
My name is ♥ Ellen ♥ and I am known here in the States as "CardMonkey". As the name implies, I have a jolly time handmaking cards for fun and not-so-much profit. I sell a few here and there, but my greatest joy is sending them to friends who fully appreciate the time and love that goes into making them. One card can easily take hours to design and produce and all the while I am making it, I am thinking with joy of its intended recipient.
I live in a town called Warminster, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania USA. In a few weeks, I'll be celebrating my 12th anniversary with my dear husband John. It's a second (LAST!) marriage for each of us. We live in a 55+ (age) community with our two Bichon pups, Sadie and Morgan.
John has a son named Paul, who is 36 and unwed. I have a dear daughter, Emily, who is 25, married to Josh, and they just gave me my ♥♥♥ first granddaughter Charlotte ♥♥♥ last month. They live very nearby, a 3 minute drive, so I am blessed to see them frequently. What loves!
I scrapbook and make cards in my "spare time". I was recently made redundant (we call it "laid off") of my job as a marketer for a home health agency and I am looking for work. I am also an elected official in my town, so we meet regularly to deal with the crises and management of the town. Warminster, PA is now 300 years old which may not seem old to my European friends but for those of us on this side of the pond, it's significant, and we're partying! There are approximately 37,000 residents in our town.
My daughter Emily introduced me to Cricut 2 years ago when she asked for an Expression as a Christmas present. I was sewing/embroidering at the time and thought the Cricut would be fabulous to help me cut appliqued designs. So "Santa" brought the Expression to "her" early that year, I started using it, then bought my own and dropped my sewing in favor of cardmaking. We pooled our resources and established the loft in my home as our craft studio. Together, we own 2 Cricut Expressions, 1 Cuttlebug (gave a second away), a Sizzix Big Shot, a Husqvarna Diamond sewing/ embroidery machine, nearly 100 cartridges, a Gypsy, Design Studio, Make the Cut, Sure Cuts A Lot, online click-art subscriptions, a subscription to the new "Cricut Magazine", and more markers, paper, adhesives, tools, punches, stamps, envelopes, on and on and on, than you can dream of.
Oh, and 2 computers and most importantly, a television and an iPod to entertain us. AND a couch and recliner to nap on when the creative genius needs to stir.
See you around the site!
Ellen

one more toy..
I forgot, I also have a Cricut Cake. I've had it since August 2010 and I haven't used it YET. I did take the cartridge out of the box (Cake Basics) and it happens to be my favorite cartridge.
Has anyone else here tried the Cricut Cake, and if so, what do you cut with it? Anything other than fondant?

Re: Hello
Hi Jeri and Ellen, great to see you both on here and it will be lovely getting to know you both.
Ellen I notice you have Bichon pups. I have a Coton du Tulear who I have pictures of on my blog. He is really cute and similar to a Bichon but with softer fur (hence the name coton).
Hi Kate, it is great to catch up with you again. I have been out of circulation for a while as well what with one thing and another but more recently with Brian having had a stoke but I am determined to put a little time aside crafting and chatting as it really does you good.

Hello
Hi to everyone on board, my name is Penny Shuberg and I just wanted to drop in and say a big Hello and to let you know how happy I am to be invited to join this Great Message Board, I live in the USA and I started Paper crafting about 5 or 6 years ago with the encouragement from my Daughter, She shares in my Passion for this art, I have about 40 Cricut Cartriges not counting the lite carts, I have a Cricut Cake that I have not used yet, I have a Cricut Expression, a Pazzles and I just bought the Cricut Imagine and have not had the chance yet to even open it, which I am very excited about, I do have the Cricut Design Studio, but I find myself using the Cricut Gypsy more often because of its portability, I am married and Have 3 beautiful grown Daughters and 8 equally beautiful grandchildren 5 Girls and 3 boys, I have just taken a break from the Cutting Cafe Design Team and am currently on the Bitten By the Bug2 Design Team and have happily been creating for them for several years, I have more paper crafting Stuff then one person should ever have but as I am sure you all know this is a very addicting craft, it seems as though it takes very little to enable a person into buying yet another item that you just cant live without....I am looking forward to being the December Guest Designer and hope to meet and talk to all of you before then...I also want to give Liz a thumbs up for such a great job shes done in creating this message board
Hugs
