SORRY liz hope you did'nt think i was bulling you into dealing with it asap,,but i like looking at blog's
Re: Daily Chit Chat
I agree with Lakul, I think it's a little harsh to delete all non posters . Wherever message boards are, there will be folks who just want to read and not contribute, it's just something that happens, they may value the board every bit as much as we do though. Also, bear in mind that the T's and C's when you sign up don't require you to contribute (as far as I can remember), just something to consider.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
I wont be deleting anybody, but there is the facility to tell how long since seomebody posted. If you are only a looker then the forum is constructed that you dont have to join in order to be able to read the posts.
I was reading about the battle between MTC and PC and it seems that the crucial part of the argument was that in one of the versions of MTC last year they had made it possible for you to make a copy of your carts and it was this that PC were compalining about and MTC have had to disable the 600 copies they sold with this feature in. I can understand this argument as it would break copyright laws even in the UK. I dont see a problem with software extending the use of the PC machines but if they are encouraging people to break copyright laws then it is not fair for all the work that has gone into creating the item. I have not read what the argument is based round between SCAL & PC. I think MTC will continue but not copying PC goods if that makes sense.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
I've added a blog post promoting the forum, fingers crossed it will bring a few more folks over to chat.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Thanks Kerry.

Liz I too would like to know where you can get medium weight chipboard, Ive tried to cut chipboard in the past on my cricut but it always ends in a mess. Ive even got a deep blade housing and still carnt cut it. I must be doing something wrong.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
I bought my chipboard off ebay but cannot find the person I got it from but I have found this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-x-A4-SHEETS-LIGHTWEIGHT-CHIPBOARD-BARGAIN-PRICE-/120611565999?pt=UK_Crafts_CraftingPaper_EH&hash=item1c150271af
and they say it can be used with the Cricut and Big Shot etc.

Hi Lesley I have found medium weight chipboard in Amazon but it is more for the postage than it is for the card! So I wondered if there is anything more local, Amber and I want to make a mini album for my eldest daughter so she can plot her journey through her pregnanacy. Not sure on design yet but thought it would be a nice present for her perhaps for her birthday on 28th March when she will be 30 going on 12!

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Lesley, have you tried the chipboard that's on the back of notebooks and paper pads? I've used these (nice and cheap ) and they go through my Cricut fine, but I use the multicut button.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
A big welcome Gangan you will love it on here were all barking O i do speak for myself really.
I have made a very nice box that i did on my Pazzle and cricut and I used a cereal box Rice Krispies in fact. Cheap and does the trick especialy if your going to cover the pages and cuts nicely too and goes throught my bind it all aswell.
its very strong i made it to hold all my Tools for the Pazzle & Cricut.

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Only cheap if you have got some!! If you have to go out and buy the notebooks first it might be a tad expensive. The trouble is chipboard is a US expression and I know in the UK we call notebook backing card a different name but for the life of me I cannot think what it is! If I could then I would be able to search better for it. The reason we cannot find much doing a UK search is that in UK chipboard is wood!!!!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Very true Liz. Just had a quick look through my paper pads and I have some on the back of my Paper Cellar and My Minds Eye papers, plus a thick white card on the back of Basic Grey.
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Liz, did you look at the link I posted for chipboard?

Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi Pam, yep I have had a look thanks and I am looking for a natural/grundge type finish I think and I followed a link from the link you sent to some natural coloured chipboard that I think must be a little heavier weight but it only comes in A4 sizing rather than 12" x 12", which I am thinking might work out more expensive for cutting multiple pages. Not really sure where I am going with my thoughts at the moment!!!
Re: Daily Chit Chat
Hi All
Damp and rainning here in Shropshire UCK but thats OK as it housework day for me WHoopie.
Liz I've have seen on Custom Crops that they have chipboard 12x12 and $4.00 for 6 sheets here is what they say about cutting it on a cricut.
Provo Craft recommends the following for cutting Chipboard (0.059"/1.50mm thick) - Deep Blade Machine Settings: Speed 3 (Med), Pressure 4 (High), Blade Depth 6, Multi Cut 5 Note: A fresh mat is needed to hold material. Small pieces of chipboard may require tape to stay in place.
I do have some that I wont use so, if you cant get 12x12 then I'll send you this I've got here, A4 only but there is 9 sheets and it's 2mm thick.
take care
